MISCELLANEOUS STUFF

From time to time, I drop miscellaneous free stuff on the web. The quality varies wildly, depending how much time I had to work on the free goodness in question.

Listed below are all the so called "other" goodies I have ever released. Enjoy them.

Some of these files are compressed with WinRar. If you don't have that utility, click HERE to get a free utility to unpack them.

Assorted Games

BGCZ Field Guide

An interactive e-book intended as a companion piece to The Armageddon Eclair.

Spatha Owners Manual

An interactive e-book intended as a companion piece to Don't Jerk The Trigger of Love.

The Forever Friday Tech Demo

An early look at one of the closing levels from the latest build of The Forever Friday. The reason I'm showcasing this is that, although it looks and plays like a level from The Ejection Rejection (which was made with Game Maker), this level was actually made with Adventure Game Studio -- which required a hell of a lot of coding to make it play as though it was made with Game Maker. It's a pretty short demo, but I'm really proud of it. If you have no experience with the limitations of either engine, then you'll probably just wonder what I'm making all the fuss about.

Screensavers & Wallpapers

Barn Runner: Screen Saver 1

A cheesy screensaver I made back when I first launched this site because somebody asked for one. Showcases shots from The Case of The Runaway Robot and The Armageddon Eclair. Enjoy it (if you can!)

Barn Runner: Screen Saver 2

Concept Art from an early build of The Forever Friday. Back then, I envisioned that game as a two-part affair told largely in flashback. However, once I decided to commit to the whole story (thus making it a five part game!) I had to work up some serious arcade coding to make the flashback action scenes an interactive part of the game and make all the rest of the back story playable game instead of dramatic cutscenes. Needless to say, that decision has added a LOT of time to the development cycle. Enjoy this screensaver, but ignore the release date it trumpets. I promise the game will be slightly worth waiting for, though!

Wallpaper 1: Arc 19

Something I threw together during the early days of this site. Several people asked me for a wallpaper, and THIS is what they got. Sometimes, it's better not to ask at all. I promise better wall papers very soon. (1024x768)

Wallpaper 2: Two Heroes

As the Forever Friday nears completion, I whipped this up one afternoon to show the two characters that star in that long-gestating game. (1024x768)

Wallpaper 3: Revolution Fist (Static Background)
(White Background)   (Black Background)

On Christmas Eve 2007, I put these three little stocking stuffers on the front page. This wallpaper features the metal fist of the Robot Revolution and is available in three backgrounds. (1024x768)

Wallpaper 4: The Forever Friday "Teaser" Poster

The first "Official" promo wallpaper for The Forever Friday, and possibly the first wallpaper here that I've actually spent any time creating. (I used Photoshop and layers and everything!) (1024x768)

Other Media

Sketchbook Designs from The Armageddon Eclair

Model sheets ripped straight from my sketchbook that cover some of the work that went into The Case of The Runaway Robot and The Armageddon Eclair.

Sketchbook Designs from The Cop Who Copped A Feel

More designs taken from my sketchbooks. These cover some of the work that went into The Cop Who Copped A Feel.
(Be warned: Since the game is an homage to the might Al Lowe and his classic Leisure Suit Larry games, some of the work is a little risqué.)

The Forever Friday Teaser Movie

Compressed with the CinePak codec, this movie showcases some scenes from my upcoming game.
(NOTE: The CinePak codec should already be installed on any Windows operating system by default -- that's why I chose it!)

Storyboards from The Forever Friday

In the documentation that accompanies the Director's Cut patch for Wreck The Halls, I mentioned that I storyboard all my cut scenes for the Barn Runner games. Three different people e-mailed me, mistakenly under the notion that I was full of poop. Well, here are the storyboards for the opening movie from part one of The Forever Friday. They're loose, they're sloppy, but they're quite real! They're also more than four years old, so forgive me if the smudgy pencils didn't scan too well.

Price IS a measure of quality.

This stuff is free.
